Frequently Asked Questions

What if I am not located in Tucson, but I need your help with my family member who lives there?

We can help. The stress and strain of organizing the care of a loved one from afar can feel unmanageable, and overwhelming. This is a common scenario for adult children with aging parents who live in another state or city. We can work with your family member locally, and keep you informed with updates as often as you would like.

How is an independent nurse advocate different from a hospital or insurance advocate?

Unlike insurance advocates or hospital nurse navigators (sometimes called advocates), an Independent RN Patient Advocate (iRNPA) has your best interests at heart, and works directly for the patient and/or family to fulfill personal health goals and needs.  Organizational advocates are hired by hospitals or insurance companies, so their loyalty ultimately lies with the company through which they were hired.

Are your services covered by insurance or Medicare?

No. Advocacy services are currently not covered through insurance or Medicare. You might consider consulting your tax, legal, or accounting professional to inquire about potential tax deductible costs.
