Anne Getty - Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) - One Voice RN Patient Advocates, LLC

Independent Patient Advocate

“Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of our clients by applying clinical nursing knowledge that will empower, inform, and support the family, the patient, and their healthcare team.”

One Voice RN Patient Advocates, LLC was founded by Anne Getty, a Board Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) and experienced clinical nurse who holds a certificate in Patient Advocacy from the University of Arizona. Anne obtained advanced certification as a flight nurse, and has completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN). She has a passion for nursing and a clear vision for what true patient-centered care should be.

Nurses are the conduit between patients, physicians, and the healthcare system at large. As a long time ER and trauma nurse, I often found myself in the position of advocating for my patients. But I was always constrained by time, tasks, and organizational infrastructure. I realized, after 18 years in the field, that our healthcare system rarely allowed me to provide the nursing care that I felt my patients deserved, so I decided to look outside the system, to see where I could make a difference in patients’ lives.

Being an RN Patient Advocate has allowed me to get back to my roots. In 1999, I chose to become a nurse because it would fulfill my heartfelt desire to help those in need. Today, as independent patient advocate, I am able to bring the “art of caring” to the forefront of my practice. Working directly with patients (and their families) allows me to spend quality time providing care that encompasses the patient’s whole being — not just their physical health, but their spiritual and emotional health as well.

Our Impact

We are all aware that healthcare in the United States is in a constant state of flux. The system’s margin for error has grown exponentially, so too has the disconnect between provider and patient. The result? Miscommunication among clinicians and patients, gaps along the care continuum, and unnecessary medical errors. Protect yourself and the ones you love by hiring a board certified patient advocate.
